End of a Era

In early March 2013, GBC reluctantly sold our John Deere 6850 forager. Bought brand new back in 2000, this forager helped the company grow, and  had many years of hassle free harvesting. As we are looking into the biggest Maize harvest to date, the need to update this machine was essential. She will be missed!

On the positive side, GBC has purchased a CLAAS 890 forager, as the replacement. This machine will act as our back-up in support of our CLASS 960, as well as running a second crew throughout the season. A new Kemper maize head will be arriving soon.

Fendt 718

In mid December 2012 GBC purchased the new Fendt 718 Vario. The Fendt has joined our fleet of John Deere tractors and will be running aside our new John Deere 6150R bought back in September. Arguably the Fendt is the rolls royce of tractors, by running these simular tractors together, we hope to see a good comparison between the two.

The German built Fendt 718 has a 186hp (138.7kW) 6.1L Diesel, Duetz engine. Weighing in at almost 7ton

John Deere 6150R

In September 2012, GBC has bought the latest in John Deere Tractors to include in their fleet, the R series.

The 6150R provides a cutting edge PowerTech, 6.8l  PVX engine with green efficiency fuel economy. At 180hp we will be using this tractor with our front and rear end mowers or our CLASS Liner 3000 swather, during the current grass silage season.  We will then testing it out on our new Graspardo seeder.
